Serving Aledo families from Moline

Our service area covers a 60-mile radius from the Quad Cities, including Aledo in Mercer County. We also help families in Joy, Viola and nearby Mercer County communities within the service area. Give us the exact place-of-death address so we can confirm coverage and any applicable charges. A service-area page describes where we provide care; our office remains in Moline.

The usual trip between central Aledo and our office follows Illinois Route 94 and the Milan-area road connections. Call when a death occurs; we coordinate the transfer with the facility, hospice or authorized contact.

How much does cremation cost in Aledo?

Our all-inclusive direct cremation package costs $1,095. It covers the standard services listed here without embalming, a formal viewing or a ceremony. You can choose a separate gathering later. The package includes:

  • Funeral director and staff services, with transfer into our care within the 60-mile service area, subject to the residence-removal exception below.
  • Refrigeration and a cardboard alternative cremation container.
  • Crematory fee for a person weighing up to 300 pounds and a biodegradable/recyclable urn.
  • Necessary permits, paperwork and death certificate filing, one certified death certificate, and applicable package taxes.
  • An obituary tribute on our website, social media sharing and online grief support.
  • Scheduled pickup at our Moline office and transfer of ashes into merchandise purchased from Mississippi Valley Cremation & Direct Burial.
  • Secure online arrangements and electronic completion of the required authorizations and contract.

No hidden fees: we explain additional costs before you authorize them. A residence removal beyond 30 miles from the Quad Cities adds $175. USPS shipment within the United States is $200. Weight above 300 pounds requires an additional crematory charge; the price list shows $150 over 300 pounds and $300 over 500 pounds. Ask for the applicable total, including any oversize container requirement.

The current price list also states a 3% credit/debit card processing fee. Additional certificates, optional merchandise, appointments, expedited service and special handling may cost extra. Review the General Price List and your itemized statement; standard included services are not added again as separate charges. Payment is due before services are rendered. Prices effective April 1, 2026, subject to change.

Why Aledo families choose cremation or direct burial

For an Aledo family with a cemetery lot already in place, direct burial can keep the plan focused on the final resting place. Another family may prefer cremation and a later gathering with relatives from Joy, Viola or outside Mercer County. The exact residence address matters when checking the 30-mile removal-fee threshold, particularly for rural locations. Included transfer within the broader service area does not automatically include every cemetery trip. We explain the relevant transportation charges before the family selects services.

Direct cremation often suits families who want a simpler initial arrangement, fewer merchandise decisions and flexibility for a later memorial. Direct burial can suit religious preferences, a wish for a permanent casket burial or an existing family lot. Neither choice determines how much love or remembrance a family can express.

Our Burial with Graveside Service package is $2,495, including a Spectra casket and taxes. It includes the scheduled weekday graveside service, standard care, paperwork, one certified death certificate and cemetery transportation within 30 miles of the Quad Cities. The cemetery lot, vault, vault delivery/setup and cemetery charges are additional. Ask for a complete quote for the chosen cemetery

Local cemeteries and churches in Aledo

The City of Aledo owns and maintains Aledo Cemetery and publishes cemetery maps and visitor rules. Its sexton must approve monuments, stones and permanent markers before installation. If your family has a lot, ask about its location, interment rights, availability and requirements for casket or urn burial. First Baptist Church of Aledo is a local congregation families may contact about a memorial gathering. Ask directly about clergy, building use and scheduling. Cemetery and church charges are separate from direct cremation.

Local resources: Aledo Cemetery and First Baptist Church of Aledo. These are independent community resources, not endorsements or affiliated service providers. We welcome families of every faith and those who prefer a secular remembrance.

Veterans benefits for Aledo families

We serve veterans and can help families identify the paperwork needed for burial benefits. Our Veterans Cremation Package is $1,095 and includes an American flag. Bring discharge documentation, such as a DD214, if available, and ask about the options at Rock Island National Cemetery.

Eligible veterans and certain family members may qualify for a national cemetery space, opening and closing, a government marker and perpetual care. The VA determines eligibility. Cremation does not by itself prevent national cemetery burial. Funeral-provider charges remain separate; a VA reimbursement is not guaranteed. We can discuss benefit applications and scheduling, including any service charges, before you choose the plan.

Compare the complete cost

When comparing Aledo cremation providers, ask for the same service in each written quote. Does the total include transportation, refrigeration, the crematory, a container, an urn, permits, tax and a certified death certificate? Compare any residence, weight, shipping and payment charges as well. A lower advertised starting price may describe fewer services; the itemized total is the useful comparison.
