Wayne A West

Wayne West, 75, of Davenport, IA, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Select Specialty Hospital, Davenport, IA, with his wife Carol by his side.

Per his request, cremation rites have been accorded. Cremation will be directed by Mississippi Valley Cremation & Direct Burial, 1811 15th Street Place, Moline, IL.

Wayne was born on June 4, 1950, to Edward West and Maxine Cosper. He married Carol Clark-Moser on June 9, 1973.

He loved his kids and family most of all. He enjoyed his kitties, working outside in the summer, and traveling and camping in his RV in the summer.

Wayne attended Pleasant Valley Community Schools and graduated with the class of 1969. He worked as a caddy at the Davenport Country Club during high school and in shipping and receiving for most of his life, and retired in June of 2012.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Carol of 52 years, children, Scott (Kim) West, Eugene West, Anthony (Tony) West, Edward (Heidi) West, Amy West, and Anne (Jerry Sr.)  Ricketts; 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Brothers, Warren (Lori) West and Tom (Cindy) West.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Roger and Pat Fuller, Paul and Nancy Fuller, and William (Bill) West; his sister, Charlotte Hahn, and grandson, Tyler West; and his in-laws, Eldon and Gloria Millam.

Wayne was a strong believer in organ donation. He was able to help the Iowa Organ Donor Network. We will get a report from them later on as to what donations he was able to make.

In remembrance of Wayne, we will be having a get-together at Fairmount Community Center, 2980 North Fairmount Street, Davenport, IA, on August 22, 2025 between 6 to 8, so family and friends can share their stories and memories of Wayne. Bring any pictures and stories you would like to share with everyone.
