Wanda D. Covington, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island Hospital. Born on July 24, 1940, in Louisville, Mississippi, Wanda lived a life enriched by her passion for family and the joy of nurturing those she held dear.

Wanda devoted her life to her loved ones, always cherishing the precious moments spent with family. Her legacy is carried on by her children: Debra (Mark) Redell, Presley (Cindy) Stanley, Tammy McClain and her late husband, Roy McClain; Melinda (Jon) Goff; Rebecca (Randy) Larrison; and Trena Petersen. Additionally, she is remembered fondly by her beloved sister, Judy Proffer, and special niece, Phyllis Johnson. A warm-hearted matriarch, Wanda's family includes many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom were fortunate to experience her love and wisdom.

Wanda enjoyed a variety of hobbies that enriched her life. She had a profound love for reading books, which opened doors to countless adventures and insights. Additionally, she found joy in planting flowers, a testament to her nurturing spirit and appreciation for the beauty of nature.

Wanda is preceded in death by her beloved mother, father, and sisters, whose memories she held close throughout her life. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly through the generations of family members she inspired and loved unconditionally.
