Virgie Delores Fetters, 83, of Millersburg, IL, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at MercyOne Genesis Medical Center, Aledo, IL.

Cremation will be directed by Mississippi Valley Cremation & Direct Burial, 1811 15th Street Place, Moline, IL.

Virgie Delores Simmons was born April 9, 1942, in Rock Island, the daughter of Harold and Mary Helen Simmons. She was a 1960 graduate of New Boston Community High School. She worked at the Aledo Maidrite for several years and at various bars as a bartender. She also worked at the New Boston Fish Market. 

In 1960, Virgie married Herb Mikel. They had three children: Herbie, Darlene, and Missy. They later divorced. 

Virgie then married Carl (Butch) Fetters on June 21, 1984. They enjoyed camping, fishing, and gardening throughout their years together. Sunday's was always fun days. A group of friends would come over and cook out, roll dice, and watch NASCAR.

In the last few years, Virgie enjoyed doing Circle A Word puzzle books and watching the old westerns.

Survivors include daughters Darlene (Matt) Denekas of Ocala, Fla., and Missy (Bobby) Adams of Millersburg; brother William (Butch) Simmons; sister Mary Ann Saunders; half brother Allen Simmons; half sisters Gail (Wally) Kyser, Bonnie (Mike) Vroman, Nancy Hammond, Linda Simmons, and Melanie Blake; grandchildren Heather (Gene) Puckett of New Boston, Evan Mikel of Georgia, Austin (Ashley) Adams of Peoria, Alli Adams of Millersburg; great grandchildren Lillian and Logan Puckett of New Boston, and Aria Peterson of Millersburg; and Sophie, Kaylee, and Journey of Peoria; and many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold (Delores) Simmons and Mary Helen Simmons; her husband, Carl (Butch) Fetters; her son, Herbie Mikel; her sister and brother-in-law, Donna and John Mote; and her half-sisters, Karen and Christina Simmons.
