Thomas Lee Rich, 68, of Davenport, IA, passed away Monday, August 17, 2026, at The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, IA.

Cremation will be directed by Mississippi Valley Cremation and Direct Burial, Moline, IL.

Tom was loved by many. His primary love of his life is his life partner and soul mate, Tamara (Tammy) Menezes. Tom is the father to two yHioung adult children; Jody Hyslope and Tommy Rich. He also has a step son: Jacob Menezes. Tom's is survived by his sisters: Kathy Howell, Patti Moore, and Linda Tague. Tom was preceded in passing by his parents Christ and Emma Rich, his sister, Sandy Jones; and brothers, Larry Rich, David Rich, and Mark Rich. Tom was surrounded with love from his grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Tom had a sincere love for dogs. His best buddy, Luca, wouldn't leave his side even when sleeping. His dog Barkley, was his truck dog as they would take long rides together in his truck especially to Tom's favorite place, Credit Island Park. Tom also loved to watch TV western movies; especially those with John Wayne. He also liked action movies and occasionally munching on CocoPebbles for a sweet snack. Tom was most proud of his 20+ years of service working on barges on the Mississippi River. Tom was also proud of his ability to banter, all in good fun, with anyone and especially his brother-in-law, Bill Moore.

May Tom forever rest in peace with his family in Heaven. A Celebration of Life is being planned in the early fall at his favorite park, Credit Island. Family and friends are encouraged to attend.
