Steven Harris, 63, passed away on July 24, 2025, in Davenport, Iowa, after a courageous battle with cancer. Surrounded by his loving family at home, he departed this world with grace and strength. He was laid to rest on July 26, 2025, at Pine Hill Cemetery.
A celebration of Steve’s life will be held on August 16, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at The W (2015 Jebens Ave., Davenport, IA 52804). The family invites all who knew and loved Steve to attend and requests guests wear tie-dye in tribute to his love for it.
Born on April 13, 1962, in Muscatine, Iowa, to Dale and Nancy Harris, Steve lived a life rooted in love for family and the beauty of simple pleasures. A man of quiet strength and boundless heart, he found joy in gardening under the sun’s warmth, grilling for those he loved, and losing himself in the rhythm of blues music—especially when jamming with his boys and playing his harmonica.
Steve’s spirit came alive watching a good boxing match or cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes. To know him was to witness resilience wrapped in kindness. His strong will, loving nature, and unforgettable sense of humor leave a lasting legacy.
Steve's greatest pride was his family. He is lovingly remembered by his children: Stephanie (Brian) Meador, Steven Harris II, Shawn Harris, and Ryan Harris; his grandchildren: Joslyn, Jaden, Preston, Myles, Jade, and Lucille; his mother Nancy Harris; and his siblings and spouses Andy (Bobbi), Amy (John), John, Ken, Sarah, Rebecca, Joe, Josh (Robyn), Jake (Jill), Elizabeth, Ben (Pippa) and Zach (Ali) and an exceptionally large loving extended family.
He was reunited in heaven with his father, Dale Harris; The mother of his children, Jackie Harris; brother-in-law Jerry Rehm; sister-in-law Lynn; and nephew Jeremy Rehm.
Family and friends are invited to share memories and express condolences on his memory page at mvcremation.com.
