Shirley Lewis, born on August 1, 1947, in Grandview, Iowa, and a lifelong resident of the region, passed away on May 9, 2026, in Davenport, Iowa. She lived a life marked by generosity, devotion to family, and a passion for music that brought joy not only to herself but to all who knew her.

As a homemaker, Shirley dedicated herself to her family. She was known far and wide as a giver; anyone in need found in her a willing heart ready to help. This selflessness was not merely an act but a source of deep satisfaction and joy for Shirley, a reflection of her generous spirit.

Music played a cherished role in Shirley’s life. She was an avid fan of Elvis Presley, whose timeless songs accompanied many moments of her day. Alongside Elvis, she delighted in singing along to Patsy Cline, her soft melodies flowing from the radio and filling her home with warmth and nostalgia. These songs were the soundtrack to a life well-lived and a reminder of the simple pleasures Shirley held dear.

Beyond her love for music and family, Shirley’s heart was most captivated by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were the light of her life, a constant source of happiness and pride. She is survived by her devoted children: Kenneth Lewis (also her caregiver), Dana (Ron) Myrick, Brian Lewis, and Randy LaRue Jr.; her daughter Angelina (Shawn) Jones; along with a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who carry forward her legacy of love. Additionally, a special niece, Rose, remains a cherished part of her extended family.

A graveside service will be held in honor of Shirley’s life on May 14, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Oakdale Memorial Gardens, located at 2501 Eastern Avenue, Davenport, Iowa, 52803. Friends and family will gather to pay their respects and celebrate a remarkable life characterized by kindness, music, and an unwavering devotion to family.
