Shawn Patrick Larson, born on August 11, 1966, in Moline, IL, left our world on November 25, 2025, after bravely battling cancer. He was a beloved husband to Chuck Tovrea, a cherished brother to Randy Larson and sister-in-law Mary Larson, and the proud uncle to a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who adored him.

Shawn's life was marked by a steadfast dedication to his family and an impressive work ethic. A graduate of Erie High School, he spent his career employed with Markman Peat. His loyalty extended not only to his family but also to his colleagues and friends. Shawn was a veteran of the Air Force, serving for six years, a testament to his commitment and service to his country.

In his personal life, Shawn found joy in the small moments that often slipped by unnoticed. Family game nights filled with laughter and playful competition were a staple in his home, particularly with his favorite niece and nephews, who will hold dear the memories of their cherished times together. Birthdays and school events of his beloved young family members brought him great joy, as he made it a point to be present and engage in their lives.

Outside of family obligations, Shawn had a zest for life that shined through in his hobbies. He took pleasure in working out in the yard, preparing for summer by getting the pool ready, all the while enjoying the warmth of the sun on his face. His involvement with the Friends Circle Club in Moline reflected his desire to connect with others, always ready to support his community with his generous spirit.

Shawn's personality was a tapestry woven with hard work and a great sense of humor, particularly with those he loved. His laughter and warmth extended beyond his immediate family, touching the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Though he has departed this life, Shawn leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to thrive in the hearts of his surviving family members and friends. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered as a hardworking, loyal, and humorous soul who embraced life wholeheartedly. His memory will inspire and comfort those who knew him, as they celebrate the light he brought into their lives. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Troy Larson and sister, Sherry Kavanaugh. Graveside services will be held at a later date.
