Shandell "Shany" Simmons-Loenser, a beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend, passed away on December 22, 2025, in Milan, Illinois. Born on August 1, 1973, Shandell dedicated 30 years of her life to cooking and serving food in the Quad Cities, touching countless lives along the way with her passion for service and her warm, engaging nature.

Shany was known for her vibrant personality—she was tiny but mighty, possessing the biggest heart that could instantly forge friendships with anyone fortunate enough to cross her path. She relished moments dressed in her finest western attire, often singing karaoke, where her spirited performances brought joy to many. Her love for western movies and true crime provided her with hours of entertainment, while her artistic flair shone through in her crafts and home decor.

Among her proudest accomplishments, Shandell was cherished for her selflessness; she was the first to offer whatever she had to those in need, exemplifying a true giving spirit. Her role as a grandmother resonated deeply, and she was lovingly known as the best grandma by her grandchildren, who adored her immensely.

Shandell is survived by her daughters, Courtney Groharing (James Isom), Olivia Loenser, and Koral Pollock. Her legacy will be carried on by her grandchildren: Toni, Charlotte, Vanelope, Lillian, Sawyer, Connor, Scarlet, and Atlas. Her family and friends will forever treasure the loving memories she created and the warmth she brought into their lives.

Shandell is predeceased by her mother, Lillian Wookey, and her brother, John Diamond Moden. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew her, and she will be missed dearly.
