Scott S. Reschly, born on February 18, 1962, in Washington, Iowa, peacefully passed away on September 19, 2025, in Rock Island, Illinois. He was a cherished member of his community and a beloved brother & uncle, whose warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.
For over 25 years, Scott devoted himself to delivering newspapers for the Dispatch / Rock Island Argus in the Keystone Neighborhood of Rock Island. His dedication to serving his customers reflected his deep-rooted commitment to community and connection. Rain or shine, Scott could be seen making his rounds, always with a smile and a friendly wave that brought joy to those who encountered him.
Beyond his work, Scott had a passion for life that shone through in his hobbies and interests. He delighted in listening to music and found joy in going on walks and watching his favorite shows on television. His love for food was well-known among his friends, especially when it came to sharing a slice of his favorite sausage pizza from Harris. These simple pleasures brought him happiness and were embraced by those fortunate enough to share them with him.
Family meant the world to Scott. He is survived by his brother, William “Bill” Reschly of Rock Island, along with 7 loving nieces and nephews who will carry his memory forward. They will remember him not just for his warm personality but also for the countless little moments they shared—moments full of laughter and love.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Reschly and Louise Miller Reschly. Brothers, Ron, Ricky and Randy Reschly. His sister, Margaret DeBoer and an infant sister, Judy Kay Reschly.
In his passing, we celebrate Scott's life—a life filled with dedication, friendship, and love. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness that will continue to inspire all who were touched by his presence. As we remember Scott, let us find comfort in the joyous moments he shared with us and the lasting impact he made in our lives. He may have departed from this world, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him dearly.
