Ryan Joseph McDevitt

July 7, 1993 – April 13, 2026

Davenport, IA – Ryan Joseph McDevitt, 32, passed away on April 13, 2026. A man of fierce loyalty and unmistakable style, Ryan leaves behind a legacy of laughter, straight talk, and a deep love for his family.

Born on July 7, 1993, Ryan grew up in Davenport, where he developed a lifelong passion for sports. In his younger years, he spent countless hours playing football and baseball with his Dad, where he earned the nickname "Smalls." That competitive spirit followed him into adulthood, whether he was cheering for the Chicago Bears or testing his luck at the card table. Ryan loved playing poker and visiting the casino; though he wasn’t always the best bluffer, he was always the best company, usually with a beer in hand and a joke ready to go.

Ryan was a true "Honda man" through and through. A proud member of the Honda Club, he never owned a vehicle that didn't sport the Honda badge. His dedication to his gear was just as precise; he was rarely seen without a signature DC hat perfectly matched to his shoes. He spent much of his time between Davenport and his mother’s home in Hillsboro, where he was a fixture in the garage regardless of the weather.

He is survived by his mother, Lisa Shoemaker; his dad, Chris Lindell; his Grandmother, Linda Lane; Grandfather, Dave Hickle; his step-grandparents, Don and Suellyn (Tudy) Jordan; His Aunt Michelle and Uncle Troy; his Aunt and Uncle Tim and Pam Lindell; His step- Aunt Missy Tioley; his brother and role model, Darren Scott and his wife, Mindy; his sisters, Deserai Scott (Josh Osborn) and Stephanie McDevitt (Nick Anderson); and his cherished nieces and nephews, Grace, Melody, Baby Ryah, Lancer, and Sebastian. He was preceded in death by his nephew, Kohl "Kohla Bear" Scott.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Rock Island Conservation Club. A luncheon will be provided, and the family invites all who loved Ryan to join them in sharing memories and playing his favorite music, including "Dear Mama" by Tupac.
