Ronald Lee Nye

RONALD L. NYE, 74, of Morrison, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 13, 2026.

Born on July 22, 1952, in Sterling, Illinois, Ron was raised in Chadwick by his parents, Kenneth and Mary Jo Nye. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army and was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Ron retired from National Manufacturing in Sterling after many years of dedicated employment. In his free time, he enjoyed following NHRA drag racing, cheering on his beloved Chicago Bears, and bowling, a pastime he enjoyed for many years. He was happiest tinkering in his garage or spending time with the family he cherished.  His favorite song was "Spirit in the Sky" by Norman Greenbaum.

Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Adele.

He leaves behind three children, Bradley L. Nye, Dara M. Smith, and Jay R. Nye; seven grandchildren, Tyler and Esra Nye, Bailey Smith and Shawna Simpson, Jonathan Nye, Journey Nye, and James Nye; and two great-grandchildren, Isa and Liyah.

Ron will be remembered for his love of family, his dedication to those he cared about, and the many memories he leaves behind in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

There will be no services at this time, but if there is a celebration of life in the near future, it will be announced.

Cremation will be directed by Mississippi Valley Cremation and Direct Burial, Moline, IL.
