Robert “Bobby” Carl Proehl Jr., 65, of Milan, IL, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA.

Robert was born August 3rd, 1960, in Moline, Illinois, the son of Robert and Mary Proehl.

Robert “Bobby” loved to fish and hunt with family in his younger years. He was also a very avid gardener, spending many years helping friends and family create beautiful gardens at their homes. He loved music and creating mixed tapes in his free time.

He will be greatly missed by his sister Connie (Mike) Morris, Milan, brother Jay (Lori) Proehl, Colona. Many nieces and nephews, Ashley (Tevin) Purcell, Spencer Staggs, Cameron, Kaylea and Kegan Proehl, and great niece Raegan Purcell. He will also be missed by many close friends, with whom he shared lifelong friendships. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Proehl, his sister Vickie Jean Proehl, and his Maternal and Paternal grandparents and great-grandparents.

Cremation will be directed by Mississippi Valley Cremation & Direct Burial, 1811 15th Street Place, Moline, IL.
