Robert “Bob” Eugene McKinzey, 80, died Friday, June 23, 2023 at home. Mississippi Valley Cremation is assisting with arrangements, no services at this time.

Bob was born on October 22, 1942 in Adair, IL, the son of Lawrence and Kathryn (Sharon) McKinzey.

He enjoyed reading, had a vast knowledge of facts and information, and was a member of Mensa. He obtained a Bachelor of Science from Western Illinois University in 1966, 30 years later returned to college and obtained an Associate in Auto Collision Repair that he put to good use.

He worked most of his life as a Process Operator Supervisor in the gas-oil-chemical industry. In 1980, he supervised the start-up and operation of a twenty-five million cubic feet per day liquid natural gas plant in Shushufindi, Ecuador. He lived a healthy life, helped many friends, loved to build unique projects and enjoyed pet snakes and cats.

Survived by 3 children Sandra (Rick) McGhee, Susan Culver and Steven (Shirley) McKinzey, 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a grandchild.
