IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard
Petersen
July 26, 1960 – February 25, 2026
Richard T. Petersen, 65, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on July 26, 1960, Richard lived a life defined by strength, loyalty, and deep devotion to those he loved most.
He was the beloved husband of Kelly, his first and last love. For 30 years, their marriage stood firm through life’s storms and seasons of joy. Married in 1996, they built a life rooted in commitment, forgiveness, laughter, faith, and an unbreakable bond. Together, they created a home filled with warmth and steadfast love.
Richard was a proud and devoted father to Alexis and Caitlin, and a cherished grandfather. His quiet strength, protective heart, and steady presence shaped his family in lasting ways. He loved deeply and showed it not only in words, but in loyalty and sacrifice.
He faced his illness with courage and dignity. Even in his weakest days, his love remained strong and constant. Those who knew Richard will remember his resilience, his determination, and the way he showed up for the people who mattered most.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kelly; his daughters, Alexis and Caitlin; Brother, Tim Petersen and sister, Carrie Mangler, his grandchildren; extended family; and his favorite munchkin cat, Benny. Also, friends who will carry his memory forward.
Though his earthly life has ended, the love he gave so freely will continue — woven into the lives of those he cherished. He will be deeply missed, fiercely grieved, and forever loved.
Cremation will be directed by Mississippi Valley Cremation and Direct Burial, Moline, IL.
Family and friends are invited to share memories and express condolences on his memory page at www. mvcremation.com.
