Richard Nevills

Richard Thomas Nevills, 79, of LeClaire, Iowa, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2026.

Richard was born in Manistique, MI, on June 6, 1946, to the late Louis Nevills and Lucy Wells. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Paula Jean Nevills; his parents; and his daughter-in-law, Patty Nevills.

Richard enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life. He loved playing bluegrass music with dear friends, watching western movies, and raising plants. Above all else, Richard treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and joy.

Richard will be dearly missed by his sons: Dan Nevills of LeClaire, Iowa; Don Nevills (Juli Jaycox) of Bettendorf, Iowa; and Dennis Nevills (Julie) of Fort Myers, Florida.

He is also survived by his grandchildren: Paige (John) Gonzalez of Sterling, Illinois; Katelyn (Jake) Moore of Princeton, Iowa; Payton Nevills of San Marcos, California; Mollie (Tristen) Finch of Aledo, Illinois; Spencer (Ali) Nevills of LeClaire, Iowa; Emeleigh Nevills of West Des Moines, Iowa; and Briar Nevills of Savoy, Illinois.

Richard was blessed with great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Tucker, Mable, and Hattie Finch, as well as Sutton and Luella Nevills.

He is further survived by his siblings: Vicky (Scott) Streeter, Jimmie (Nadine) Nevills, John Nevills, and Dana (Sheila) Wells, along with many nieces, nephews, and his special friend, Jean Duncan.

In accordance with Richard’s wishes, no visitation or public service will be held. A private family burial will take place at a later date.

Cremation will be directed by Mississippi Valley Cremation and Direct Burial, Moline, IL.
