Richard E. Ludin

Richard Edward Ludin, 48, of Davenport, IA, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2025, at MercyOne Genesis Medical Center, Davenport.

Richard was born at Scott Air Force Base in Belleville, IL, on February 16, 1977, to Steven Ludin and Mary (Recore) Young. Richard grew up in Colona, Illinois, and Milan, Illinois. He moved to the Peoria, IL area and married Michele Gilmore. They had two sons together- Brysen (19) and Brayden (17). Later in his life, Richard moved to Marion, IA, and married Tiffany Stevens. After they separated, Richard moved back to the Quad Cities to be near friends and family.

Richard had such a big heart and was always happy to lend a helping hand. He had an even bigger sense of humor and knew how to make people smile. His laugh was contagious. He was a skilled handyman and recently started classes to obtain his welding certificate. He will be missed by so many who knew and loved him.

Richard is survived by his two sons, Brysen Ludin and Brayden Ludin of Chillicothe, IL, four siblings, Christopher Ludin, Rebecca Cantu (Bobby), Mary Fuller (Kristen), and Sean Young, and his beloved cat, Bobbi. He is also survived by aunts and uncles, David and Marilyn Ludin, Jeff and Pam Ludin, Jim Ludin and Susan Goodman, and Patricia Ludin, nine cousins, two nephews, one niece, one niece or nephew on the way, and many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his father, Steven Ludin; his mother, Mary Young; his sister, Heather Porter; his grandparents; and his uncle John.

Arrangements are in the care of Mississippi Valley Cremation & Direct Burial. A service will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery in East Moline on Monday, September 15, at 4:00 PM. Guests are invited to line up for the procession to the cemetery at 3:30 PM at Mississippi Valley Cremation, 1811 15th Street Place, Moline, IL 61265.
