Richard "Rich" Jacobs

Richard “Rich” Jacobs, 61, of Moline, Illinois, peacefully passed away on May 15, 2026, at Allure of East Moline after a brief illness. Cremation will be directed by Mississippi Valley Cremation and Direct Burial, Moline, IL.

Rich was born on May 14, 1965, in Moline to Kathy Ann Hoeg and was later raised with the love and support of his stepfather, Randy Oaks.

Rich was a man of strong faith who loved Jesus, treasured time with his family, and especially enjoyed camping during the warm summer months. He found joy in the simple moments spent outdoors and surrounded by those he loved most.

On January 4, 1999, Rich married Carrie Lea, beginning a partnership filled with love and companionship.

Rich leaves behind his sons, Brian Allen Marshal of Dumas, TX, and Duane Lynn Lail of Poteau, OK; and his cherished “Daddy’s little girl,” Doris Marie Jacobs (Brady) of Fort Smith, AR. He is survived by his brothers, Brent (Ashley) Whittington and Randy Whittington; his nieces, Kenzie (Bryan) Whittington and Kaidyn Whittington; and his nephew, Gabriel Whittington.

Rich was preceded in death by his mother, Kathy Ann Hoeg; his stepfather, Randy Oaks; his sister, Tina Colbert; and his brother, Richard Jacobs.
