Randy L. Bruce, 69, of East Moline, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island, surrounded by his loving family.
As per Randy's wishes, no services will be held.
Randy was born on October 31, 1956, in Moline, the son of Joel and Violet (Roberts) Bruce. He graduated from AlWood High School in Woodhull, IL, in the Class of 1974.
Following high school, Randy worked in a service garage and later at Hillcrest Home in Geneseo, IL. He went on to build a successful career in medical equipment repair, ultimately owning and operating his own business, Med Lab Instrument Service. Randy was highly skilled with both his hands and his mind and had an exceptional ability to diagnose and repair anything he set his mind to.
On May 15, 1977, Randy married Carolyn Smith. They shared 40 devoted years of marriage until Carolyn's passing in 2017. Together, they had one son, Daniel L. Bruce. Randy was also a loving stepfather to Bobby Marsh.
In 2018, Randy found happiness again when he met Becky Price. The two shared a loving companionship that continued until his passing.
Randy had a deep love of music. He enjoyed listening to a wide variety of music and was blessed with a wonderful singing voice. He was known for his caring and generous nature, always putting others first and making sure the needs of family and friends were met. Randy appreciated life's simple pleasures, including long drives through the countryside, going to the movies, and sharing dinners with family and friends. Randy had a special friend in his beloved dog and faithful companion, Einstein (Ein), they enjoyed daily walks and many car rides together.
He is survived by his companion, Becky Price; his son, Daniel L. Bruce (Marie Holdridge); his siblings, Bob (Mary) Bruce; and many extended family members and friends.
Randy was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Bruce; his parents, Joel and Violet Bruce; his sister, Martha (Jerry) Caslin; his brothers, Dale (Carolyn) Bruce and Ron (Lola) Bruce; and his stepson, Bobby Marsh.
Randy will be remembered for his generosity, remarkable talents, and the love he gave so freely to his family and friends. His gentle spirit, beautiful singing voice, and willingness to help others.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
