Paula "Janie" Clark passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on March 31, 1939, Paula led a life filled with love, laughter, and an incredible sense of humor that drew people to her.

Paula retired from the Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric Company, but her greatest pride was her two sons, Mark and Randy, who were born from her first marriage to Ron Waeyaert. While that marriage may have ended in divorce, she remained close friends with Ron until his passing last year. Paula found the love of her life in Walter Stahl, with whom she spent over 20 years with until his passing. She found love and deep friendship with Jim Clark, who was the yin to her constantly late yang.

Paula loved being known as the fun grandma, whether it was movie night, sleepovers on the floor of her house on the river with every blanket in the Quad City region (and of course, she slept on the floor with the grandkids), or making chip beef on toast at any time of day or night.

She was known as Janie to her siblings, who all carried a close bond throughout all of their lives.  She is survived by her loving son, Randy Waeyaert. Paula’s legacy continues through her grandchildren: Adrienne (Cody Ogburn) Waeyaert, Andrew (Abbey) Waeyaert, and Ashley and Tyler Waeyaert. She delighted in the joy of her great-grandchildren — Ivan, Aniah, Avery, Kennedy, and Lincoln, also in her great-great-grandchildren Vianna and Zy'layah.

Paula's passing leaves a void that will be felt by many. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Mary McLean; her husbands, Ron Waeyaert, Walter Stahl, and Jim Clark; her son, Mark Waeyaert; her granddaughter, Erin Waeyaert; and all seven of her siblings. Their memories live on in the lives she touched and the love she shared.

In remembering Paula, we honor not only her life but also the laughter, warmth, and joy she brought to everyone around her. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Family and friends are invited to share memories and express condolences on her memory page at mvcremation.com.
