Micheal Wayne Reedy, 75, of Eldridge, IA, passed away Monday, May 19, 2025, at MercyOne Genesis Medical Center East, Davenport, IA. Mike was born August 10, 1949, in Muscatine, IA, to Don and Velma (Wells) Reedy. He graduated from North Scott Senior High. Mike was married on May 30, 1970, in Big Rock to Jill Ahrens and they were coming up on their 55 year wedding anniversary.
Cremation will be directed by Mississippi Valley Cremation. All family are invited to attend his burial in the Dixon Memorial Cemetery on June 21 at 11am. All friends and family are welcome to attend his Celebration of Life at the Dixon Legion Hall after the burial 12-3pm.
Mike was a self employed businessman ahead of his time. If there was a money making opportunity, Mike was game. He owned laundromats, a car wash, a rug cleaning business, an apartment building, dabbled in several marketing endeavors, had his realtors license, and multiple salesman jobs with companies like the Quad City Times, Per Mar, Electrolux, and APAC. He could talk to anybody about anything and leave them feeling valued, loved, and full of laughter.
Mike and his wife generously hosted many family and friend gatherings, mostly at their cabin/campsite down by the river. There was always plenty of homemade food, music, beer, and a metal folding chair. Mike was the life of the party with his magic tricks and sense of humor. A mention of his name brings an image of his hat, sunglasses, and a smile. He enjoyed playing cards (the best poker player ever!), fishing, camping, and watching sports.
He is survived by his wife Jill Reedy; children Heather (Nate) Rickard, Heath (Angie) Reedy; grandchildren Quinn, Gage, Cruz, Libby; great-granddaughter Emeriee; sister Vickie (Ron) Hillyer; and too many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins to count. He will be deeply missed and is now pain free and laughing with his parents, brother Jeff, father-in-law Ellis, mother-in-law Della, sister-in-law Abby, and nephew Casey.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dixon Ball Park or Dixon Legion or just pay it forward to someone in need and give Mike a wink.
