He was born June 29, 1968, to Thomas Shaw and Sheila (Allen) in Rockford, IL. Jerome (Jenny) Johnson became “Dad” at an early age, and David (Sheila) Coombs became a treasured stepdad. He attended Belvidere and Kirkland schools. On October 9, 2009, he married Cinidie Hiher at Cattail Park, Fulton, IL. Mike loved fishing, squirrel and morel hunting, as well as “froggin” and selling frog legs in his younger years. He and Cindie had a special tradition of making cookies every Christmas, in which Mike took exceptional care of all the details and the baking. They loved to take drives, fish along the river, and talk music trivia. He enjoyed metal bands of the 70s and a cold Mountain Dew or Budweiser. A second-generation hippie raised by bikers, Mike served briefly in the United States Navy.
