Michael Alan Devine was born to Donna Crowner and James Alan Devine on July 7, 1966, in Moline. Early in Michael’s childhood, Donna divorced and was remarried to Michael Koons, who became Michael’s Stepfather and later a significant and dear friend.

Michael died on June 12, 2023, after a prolonged battle with cancer.

Michael married Chris Massick in 1986. He is survived by two sons, Cody, and Jared Devine. Chris and Michael later divorced.

He leaves one daughter, Cassidy Weitkauf, who resides in Arizona; Mr. Koons and Micahel’s aunt, Karen Bergren, are among the other surviving family members.

Michael was a skilled electrician who was employed by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 494 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

He met Julie Mudgett in 2013 and shared her home and sense of humor. In addition to their shared love of dogs and contagious laughter, they shared his final days at home with the help of Genesis Hospice staff and services. Ms. Mudgett thanks Peter Redcrow for his gracious and thoughtful support.

A Celebration of Michael’s life is scheduled to be held at Rosy's Watering Hole, 1731 7th Street, Moline, IL, on July 2, 2023, between 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM.
