Marilyn Egli, born Marilyn Griffith on June 6, 1935, in Galesburg, Illinois, passed away on September 30, 2025, at Liberty Village of Princeton, Illinois. She lived a life rich in experiences and love, serving as a cherished wife, mother, and friend.

Marilyn’s journey through life took her and her beloved husband Glen on many adventures. As they traveled in their fifth-wheel trailer, they explored the landscapes of Michigan, North Carolina, and New Mexico, where Glen worked with Job shops. This period of travel helped cultivate a deep bond between them, filled with memories of discovery and exploration.

Marilyn, formerly of Galesburg, who moved to Princeton, Illinois, after Glen’s passing in 2015, found solace and purpose in her community, becoming an active member of her church in both Galesburg and Princeton, Illinois. Her dedication to her faith and her local community was a testament to her compassionate spirit, leaving a lasting impact on those around her.

Marilyn was also a devoted mother to her son, Douglas Hines, who preceded her in death in 2021. She is survived by her loving daughter, Brenda (Dave) Linker of Princeton, IL, who remembers her as a very strong and loving mother and friend with fondness and gratitude. She also loved to spend time with her niece and nephews. Preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Donald Griffith. And many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

As we reflect on Marilyn’s life, we celebrate her warmth, resilience, and the joy she brought to all who knew her. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honor the remarkable impact she had on her family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to share memories and express condolences on her memory page at mvcremation.com.
