IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Luke
Brown
December 19, 1986 – December 9, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Luke Brown, affectionately known as “Lukie,” who left us on December 9, 2025, at the University Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. Born on December 19, 1986, in Iowa City, Luke lived a vibrant life filled with love, laughter, and a passion for sports.
Luke was a kind, sweet, thoughtful, and considerate individual. He brought joy to those around him with his fun-loving personality and his ability to make others laugh. From an early age, he never missed an opportunity to remind his loved ones just how much he cared for them. His warm spirit was evident in all he did, and he developed a big heart that embraced everyone he encountered.
A passionate sports enthusiast, Luke enjoyed playing baseball during his youth and aspired to become a sports broadcaster. His dedication led him to earn numerous awards throughout his life, including notable achievements in baseball and the "belts and titles" he proudly garnered during neighborhood wrestling competitions as a young child.
Beyond sports, Luke found joy in attending concerts and spending time with family and friends, embracing each moment with enthusiasm. His laid-back, all-inclusive nature endeared him to many, creating lasting memories and bonds that will be cherished forever.
Luke’s unexpected passing was a result of uncontrolled diabetes, a condition that he bravely faced. At the time of his passing, he was blessed to have family by his side, providing comfort and love during his final moments.
He is survived by his cherished mother, Rebecca Spicer-Brown; father, Jerry C. Brown; beloved stepfather, Gary Baumbach; and three brothers: Ryan Brown, along with his wife Jamie and their three sons from Waukee, IA; Jacob E. Brown from Spring Valley, IL; and Michael Smith from Toronto, IA. Luke also leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to resonate through the lives he touched.
Remembered fondly is his "Grandmommarama," Paula G. Cook, who has predeceased him. Luke’s gentle spirit and loving nature will be deeply missed by all who knew him. As we celebrate the beautiful life he led, we take comfort in the memories he created and the love he shared with everyone fortunate enough to call him family or friend.
Family and friends are invited to share memories and condolences on his memory page at www.mvcremation.com.
