It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Lorelene Green-Francis, affectionately known as Lorie, who departed this world on February 4, 2026, at MercyOne Genesis in Davenport, Iowa, after a long-term illness. Born on August 22, 1955, in Lorain, Ohio, Lorie was a bright light in the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Lorie's remarkable career as a customer service representative was characterized by her patience and innate ability to connect with people. She proudly served with several large companies, including Bank of America and Mediacom, where her exceptional skills and warm demeanor made her cherishable in the eyes of coworkers and clients alike. Her voice often carried the friendly Texan drawl that she cherished, reflecting a piece of her heart that forever remained in Texas despite her transition to Illinois to be closer to her beloved family.

Fond memories of Lorie are steeped in her generous spirit and the lasting relationships she cultivated throughout her life. She had an infectious zest for living, expressing her love for travel, beach outings, and her precious cats and dogs. Music played a significant role in her life—nothing thrilled her quite like the tunes of the 60s, 70s, and 80s, especially the electrifying sound of AC/DC’s "Thunderstruck," which always got her toes tapping.

Lorie found joy in the simple moments—watching movies, sharing laughter, and learning alongside her father, where she was his eager apprentice in all things he would teach her. The stories she loved to tell were filled with warmth and nostalgia, particularly recounting her cherished two decades spent in the Houston area—each tale dripping with vivid memories that brought smiles to everyone around.

She leaves behind her devoted son, Truman Francis of Marion, Iowa; her loving sister, Gail (Green) Sinnott, along with her husband, John Sinnott from Bluffton, South Carolina; her brother, Michael Green from Gray, Tennessee; and her sister, Susan (Green) Lerschen-Cassatt, accompanied by her husband, Bob Cassatt from Blue Grass, Iowa. Lorie was predeceased by her mother, Delores Bushbaum, in 1964, and her father, Edward Green, in April 2025.

Lorelene Green-Francis will be deeply missed, yet her legacy of love, friendship, and unwavering support will continue to be a source of comfort and inspiration for all who knew her.
