Lance was born on December 31, 1972, to Ramona Groves. He passed away unexpectedly at home on September 16, 2026 at the age of 53. He spent his early childhood in Viroqua and Westby, Wisconsin, before moving with his mother and sister to Eldridge, Iowa, during his teenage years. He attended North Scott Schools.

Lance met Lisa Terry in 1993, and the two were married on April 16, 2000, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They shared many years together.

Most recently, Lance worked for the late John Peterson at Peterson Trucking in Moline, Illinois. Throughout his life, he held many different jobs and made many friendships along the way.

Lance was a true party animal who always loved to have fun and turn it up a little. He will be remembered for being a wild card. He also will be remembered for love for his family, his loyalty to the Dallas Cowboys, road trips back to Wisconsin, playing Texas Hold’em poker, and his love of old-school video games. He especially enjoyed spending time with his friends, including Northcutt, the Bubons, Jay and many others.

Lance is survived by his mother, Ramona Cole (Jerry Hoffman); his sons, Dallas (Lynzie) Groves and Austin Terry (Heaven McLeod); his grandchildren, Jaxon Weggen, Brody and Lyra Terry; his sister, LaCinda (Michael) Johnston; niece, Courtney Sobolik; and his aunts, Bonnie Mashak and Karen Groves. And many more extended family members.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Three 33 Bar Wednesday September 23rd, 4pm-7pm!

Cremation will be directed by Mississippi Valley Cremation and Direct Burial, Moline, IL.
