Joseph Lee Shadden was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, on October 14, 1968, the son of Judy and Thomas Shadden. The family later moved to Illinois.
Joseph was known to be a kindhearted person who would do anything for anyone. He was a natural joker who loved telling jokes just to make others laugh. He could spend hours playing with his nieces and nephews or amaze them with his magic tricks.

Joseph was a professional pool player for 40 years and could often be found running the table for fun at Leisure Time Billiards Sports Bar in Moline. He also enjoyed a good poker game on a Saturday night with his friends.
He is survived by his brothers Steven Shadden (Maureen) and Louis (Beth) Brems; sisters Kelly Shadden (William), Julie Brems, Kelly Brems, Jennifer Shadden, and Elisha (Ken) Alcindor; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. He leaves behind special friends Jeremy and Debbie Plumb.
