Jonathan
Pierson
Mar 8, 1957 — Aug 23, 2026
Jonathan Gus Pierson, 69, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2026, at MercyOne Genesis Medical Center East in Davenport.
Jonathan was a father, grandfather, husband, brother, and son. His passing leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family who will carry his memory with them for years to come. While words can never fully express the loss of someone we love, the memories we hold become a lasting part of the legacy they leave behind.
Jonathan is survived by his oldest son, Jonpaul Pierson, and grandson, Mason Pierson; his daughter, Jackie Pierson, her wife, Courtney Calhoon, and their children, Micheal Levy, Alyssah Levy, and Kayleigh Levy; his youngest son, William Pierson, and his wife, Reba Pierson; and his wife, Mary Pierson, whom he married shortly before his passing.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Barbara Pierson; his little sister, Teri Pierson; his parents, Paul and Nancy Pierson; his beloved twin granddaughters, Emily Anne and Sophia Grace; and his parents-in-law, Barbara and Gene Bevans.
Jonathan leaves behind more than a list of names. He leaves behind pieces of his life woven into the lives of his children and grandchildren. He leaves behind memories of family gatherings, conversations, laughter, challenges, and ordinary moments that, with time, become some of the most treasured memories we have.
For his children and grandchildren, his absence will be felt in the moments when they wish they could hear his voice, share a story, or simply have one more day together. Though life will continue without him, the love and memories shared with Jonathan will remain a part of their lives.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1975,
He will also be remembered alongside those who went before him, including Barbara, his wife of 47 years, his parents, his sister, his twin granddaughters, and his parents-in-law. Their memories remain a part of the family story and the legacy Jonathan leaves behind.
Cremation will be directed by Mississippi Valley Cremation and Direct Burial in Moline, Illinois.
Jonathan’s life may have come to an end, but the memories he created will continue through the family he leaves behind. He will be remembered, missed, and carried in the hearts of those who knew him.
Rest peacefully, Dad. Your place in our family story will never be erased. You will always be a part of us, and you will never be forgotten. Until we meet again.
Family and friends are invited to share memories and condolences on his memory page at www.mvcremation. com.
