John Ingle

August 9, 1951 — December 22, 2024

John Ingle, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, peacefully departed this life on December 22, 2024, at his home in Hillsdale, Illinois, fulfilling his wish to be surrounded by the comforts of home. Born on August 9, 1951, in Galesburg, Illinois, John was a man of many talents and profound dedication to his family.

Throughout his life, John worked diligently as a farm hand and mechanic, showcasing a remarkable work ethic that defined much of his career. He graduated from Carl Sandburg College, where he laid the groundwork for a life devoted to hard work and simple pleasures. Later in life, he took great pride in supervising his niece and her sons in their auto work, providing guidance and sometimes a bit of friendly harassment, which became a cherished part of family lore.

John was an Army veteran who received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal, and he was proud of his service and the values it instilled in him. This sense of duty extended into his everyday life, where he was always ready to lend an ear, offer assistance, or provide a guiding hand whenever needed. Friends and family alike would attest to his onery spirit, as he loved to give others a hard time, but deep down, John had a heart full of love for those he cared about.

He had many interests that brought him joy, including fishing, woodworking, and spending quality time with those he treasured. He was particularly known for spoiling his beloved wife, Beverly, creating memories that continued to warm the hearts of those around him.

John leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience. He is survived by his devoted wife, Beverly Ingle; daughter, Jennifer Lowder; son, Christopher Ingle; and siblings, Cathy Mueller, Timmy Ingle, and Carla Stephens. His cherished grandchildren, Samuel, Joseph, Jenna, Alexander, and Cricket, will forever remember their grandfather as a source of wisdom and laughter. He also leaves behind many nieces, great-nephears, and great-great-nephears.

John joins in eternal rest his late parents, Carl and Norma Ingle, and his nephew, Carl Mueller, who have welcomed him into the next chapter with open arms.

As we remember John Ingle, let us celebrate a man who embraced the joys and struggles of life with patience and laughter. He was a rock for his family and a friend to many. His spirit and the memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
