John Eddie “Billy” Bomar, 75, of Rock Island, IL, passed away on February 2, 2026, at Fort Armstrong Assisted Living in Rock Island, IL. He is leaving behind a life remembered for his humor, his sharp wit, and honesty — qualities that those who knew him will always remember.

Billy was the eldest brother in the Bomar family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene E. Crittendon; his father, Johnnie E. Bomar; and his sisters, Dorthy Jean Bomar and Mary Jeanette Bomar.

He is survived by his brother Bobby Bomar; his sister Reo Bomar; his sister Floretta Fuller; and his brother Robert Bomar. He also leaves behind many friends, nieces, nephews, and great‑nieces and great‑nephews.

Billy was one of a kind, and he will be missed.
