Jeanne Theresa (Cyrier) Alvarez, 74, of East Moline, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline, Illinois.

Jeanne was born on October 5, 1951, in Kankakee, Illinois, the oldest daughter of Bernard Paul and Mary June (Raymond) Cyrier. She was raised in a lively household of eleven children, where her vibrant spirit, warm heart, and unmistakable presence shone brightly from an early age. Jeanne carried those same qualities throughout her life, leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Jeanne had a true gift for bringing people together. She loved to entertain and was especially known for her delicious home-cooked meals, proudly specializing in Mexican cuisine that family and friends eagerly looked forward to. As a talented hairdresser, she touched many lives through her work, building lasting relationships and friendships along the way.

Creativity and color filled Jeanne’s world. She found joy in decorating her home with cherished knick-knacks, plants, and unique treasures she discovered while bargain hunting. Her home reflected her personality—welcoming, colorful, and full of life.

Above all, Jeanne treasured time spent with her family. She adored her two loving sons, nieces, nephews, and her two grandsons, who brought her immense pride and happiness. Known as the life of the party, Jeanne’s laughter, storytelling, and loving nature were central to family gatherings, creating memories that will be cherished forever.

Jeanne is survived by her son, Ben Alvarez of Morris, Illinois; her daughter-in-law, (Jen) Alvarez of Pheonix, Arizona; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Margie Cyrier of Moline, Illinois, Mary (Greg) Rollins of Chebanse, Illinois, and (Ron) Snodgrass of Wonder Lake, Illinois; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve Cyrier of Kankakee, Illinois, Ray (Becky) Cyrier of Limestone, Illinois, Rob (Wendy) Cyrier of Spring, Texas, and Ronnie (Lisa) Cyrier of El Sargento, BCS, Mexico; her two grandchildren, Dominic and Spencer Alvarez of Morris, Illinois; three aunts, Pat Cyrier of Eugene, Oregon, Rosie Cyrier of Bedford, Texas, and Barbara Peters of Orlando, Florida; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard Paul and Mary June (Raymond) Cyrier; her brothers, Paul Cyrier and Joe Cyrier; her sisters, Carolyn Snodgrass and Madonna Cyrier; her sisters-in-law, Kathy Cyrier and Gina Cyrier; her son, Jess Alvarez; her niece, Elizabeth Cyrier; her nephew, Shane Cyrier; and her great-nephew, Paul Mausehund Jr.

A private family memorial in Jeanne’s honor will be held at a later date.

Cremation will be directed by Mississippi Valley Cremation and Direct Burial, Moline, IL.
