Jean L. Clavette (Jeannie) passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025, in Rock Island, Illinois. She was born on August 30, 1950, in Madison, Wisconsin.

A proud graduate of Monona Grove High School in 1968, Jean dedicated many years to her career as a payroll account manager for Stokely Canning Company until its closure. Following this, she continued her hard work and commitment as a clerk for Boumatic until her well-earned retirement in 2015. Retirement brought a new chapter in her life as she moved to Moline, Illinois, to spend time with her daughter and family. She was an irreplaceable part of their daily lives.

Jean's vibrant personality shone through in her honest, fun-loving, and sassy demeanor. She had a unique gift for establishing connections—whether through long phone calls or lively conversations in person. Those who spoke with her found themselves drawn into hours of laughter and cherished stories. The memories of home-cooked meals, camping trips, and heartfelt discussions will forever echo in the hearts of her family and friends.

Aside from spending time with her loved ones, Jean had a range of hobbies she adored. She found joy in cooking and baking not just for her family, but also for friends and community gatherings. She was deeply involved with the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 9362, serving as president and turning her love for cooking into volunteer service for both private and community-centered events. Her “famous” Thanksgiving stuffing became a staple at the VFW’s free community Thanksgiving dinner, a tradition she upheld for over 20 years.

Later in life, Jean enjoyed bowling, throwing horseshoes, reading romance novels, and indulging in her favorite TV shows such as crime dramas and QVC. She also cherished moments spent traveling and enjoying the thrill of trying her luck at various casinos.

Though Jean faced the unexpected challenge of illness only weeks before her passing, she handled the situation with grace and courage, preparing to return home on hospice to be with her family. Her decision to leave us in the hospital just before this transition serves as a reminder of her peaceful spirit and deep love for her family.

Jean is survived by her cherished family: her brother Jim Gunnelson and his partner Christine Cuccia; her daughters Tiffany Willard and her husband Mark Willard, and Jenny Meidl and her husband Mike Kravik; her son Jeff Roberts and his wife Lisa Roberts, whom she was blessed to reunite with shortly before her passing; her beloved grandchildren Madisen Willard, Trinity Niesen, and Mya Willard; her nephews Brandon Bewick, Shawn Conrad, and Chad Gunnelson; and dear friend Denise Coakley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Clavette; her parents, Merton and Wilma Gunnelson; her sister, Nancy Conrad; and her nephew, Chris Conrad.

Jean’s legacy of kindness, laughter, and love will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the joy and laughter she shared with those she loved.
