Jason Wayne Schaver, 49, of Clinton, IA, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on September 24th, 2026.
Jason was born in Clinton, IA, on August 3rd, 1977, to Robert W. and Debra L. (Mobley) Schaver.

In his early years, he played baseball and usually started on second base. He made the most of the traveling Little League and ended up being an All-Star second baseman. In the summer months, he often helped out with chores on his grandma's farm in Albany. He graduated from Erie High School and went on later to write screenplays for movies. He believed a script wasn't complete until a movie was made.

Jason hadn't had much luck in the love department, but once he met Kate, he knew she was the one. In 2017, they got married at the little chapel in Heritage Canyon in Fulton. Together they shared a dog named Jobe and a cat named Lilly. He always said she was the love of his life; he just had to spend a lot of time looking for her.

In 2008, he got his first break, and "The Truth About Average Guys" was made and released. After the well-received feedback on that first movie, he went on to create two more movies, "S.O.L." and "Wingmen Incorporated." By 2011, he had created his own movie production company. called Moped Jones Entertainment. Jason loved to be the comedic relief in every room he entered. His biggest joy in life was making people laugh. He could be quiet at times, but he was just taking it all in so he could gauge what jokes he could make. He always had an end goal of bringing smiles to everyone's faces.

An avid basketball, baseball, and football fan, he usually could be found immersed in the TV around March Madness season and when the Bears were playing. He would always talk to his dad, whether on the phone or in person, about how the Bears and Illini could play better.

Survivors include his wife, Kate Schaver of Clinton, IA; his mom and dad, Bob and Deb Schaver of Albany; his mother-in-law, Keran Johnson of Pontiac, IL; father-in-law James Johnson of Lexington, IL; his sister, Danielle (Brad) Smith of Prophetstown; his niece, Isabel (Bryson) Smith of Erie; and his nephew, Bryar Smith, stationed in Turkey.
He was preceded in death by both his maternal and paternal grandparents, and his brother-in-law Roger Smith.
Per his wishes, there will be no service. Cremation rites have been accorded.
