Janice Eve Bybee

1938 — 2025

Davenport

Janice Eve Bybee, a luminary in the local artist world and the vibrant colors of life, peacefully departed from this realm on May 8, 2025, at Senior Star Memory Care. Born on December 31, 1938, in the enchanting city of Liverpool, England, Janice bore a creativity that knew no bounds; her heart and brush danced together to create breathtaking watercolors that echoed her spirit.

As a remarkable local artist, Janice dedicated her life to not only refining her craft but also to promoting art throughout the Quad Cities. Her brushstrokes were not mere applications of color; they were whispers of joy, community, and connection. With a personality that was always kind and gentle, her sense of humor added an unmatched charm to her presence, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who crossed her path.

Janice leaves behind a loving family, including her devoted daughter, Alison Bybee, and son-in-law, Declan. Her legacy continues through her cherished granddaughters, Anna and Hazel Mulkeen, whose laughter and light captured her heart just as she captured the world around her with paint. Her sister-in-law, Reba Ripley (David), along with her nephews, Steven and Jason, remain steadfast in the love and memories they shared with Janice, remembering her warmth and artistry.

Janice's vibrant spirit is now reunited with her beloved husband, Don Bybee. Together again, may they traverse the realms beyond, as Janice’s artistic aura continues to inspire those who reside in her wake.

Please join the family in celebrating the life of Janice Eve Bybee on 1 June at 12 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Davenport, Iowa, where we will honor kindness, creativity, and the joy of laughter—elements she shared freely with the world. Her legacy, much like her art, will forever be a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and a spectacular palette of memories cherished by all who knew her. Donations, please in Lieu of Flowers to Nahant Marsh Education Center.

Family and friends are invited to share memories and express condolences to the family on her Memory Wall at mvcremation.com
