George Garfield Sodeman Jr., 61, of Rock Island, IL, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at his residence with his loving wife by his side.

To know George was to love him. He did not know a stranger. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and a brother, Christian. 

Left to navigate without him are his wife, Angie; stepchildren, Stephanie (Brian) Seals, Heather (Kyle) Jahn, Brandon (Toni) DeGryse; and 11 grandchildren.  And six fur children, Dusty, Mae, Georgia, Jasmine, Edie, and Sarah: Sister Kelly(Doug) Ormsby, brother Chad Pankey, stepdad Don Pankey, and nieces and nephews. 

Per George’s wishes, there will be no service. There will be a celebration of life at a later date. 

Cremation will be directed by Mississippi Valley Cremation & Direct Burial, Moline, IL.
