Francisco Mora, affectionately known as "Papas," passed away on June 14, 2026, at MercyOne Genesis in Silvis, IL. Born on November 10, 1998, in Rock Island, Francisco “Papas” lived a life marked by the warmth and kindness that endeared him to his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Papas’s journey through life was one of connection and love, especially with those closest to him. He is survived by his devoted mother, Kerie Rutledge, who provided unwavering support and guidance throughout his life. Alongside her was his brother, Shaye Mora, a steadfast presence who shared many moments of joy and companionship with Papas. His family circle also includes his stepfather, David Rutledge, whose role was marked by care and a lasting friendship. Also, his step-sister, step-brothers, nieces, and nephews.
In remembering Papas, we honor a soul whose presence brought comfort and joy to everyone around him. His life, though tragically cut short, leaves an imprint on the hearts of his loved ones and extended family and friends around him. The memory of his spirit endures, carried forward by those who cherish him most.
Papas will be deeply missed, yet his legacy of love and connection remains a lasting testament to the man he was. Forever strong. May he rest in peace.
We are forever grateful to those who led him on his journey: Amy Iams, Nancy Mitchell, Kim Barry, Jill Hagen Carr, and many others who loved him. His Active Day family for every day love and care. All his medical staff that gave him the best care with love and the support of friends at Friendship Manor.
Papas was also preceded in death by cherished family members who now watch over him from beyond: his grandmother, Paula Breeden; great-grandmother, Jean Alexander; great-grandfather, Kermit Alexander; uncle, Robert Alexander; and godmother, Debbie Johnson. Their memory remains a vital part of the foundation upon which his life was built.
A celebration of life will be held at: Active Day (4011 Avenue of the Cities, Moline, IL) on Wednesday, June 24th from 4pm to 6pm.
Family and friends are invited to share memories and express condolences on his memory page at www.mvcremation.com.
