Earl Frederick Hamm Jr. was born on July 14, 1961, and departed this world on June 16, 2025, in Rock Island, Illinois. He lived a life rich with passion and dedication, both in his professional career and personal endeavors. Earl was an Electrician before joining the Dixon Local 727 as a union laborer for over 20 years, earning the respect of his colleagues and the community through his hard work and commitment to excellence.
A proud Navy Seabee, Earl cherished his service and often recounted stories of his travels, particularly reminiscing about his time on Diego Garcia. His time in the military not only shaped his character but also instilled in him the values of discipline and camaraderie that he carried throughout his life.
Earl was a man who found joy in the simplest of pleasures. He loved being outdoors, whether it was tending to his garden or going for long drives with his beloved wife, Tammy. His nurturing spirit extended to his cherished cat, Daisy, whom he spoiled every chance he got.
Sundays were reserved for one of Earl’s greatest passions: sports. With unwavering loyalty, he would often be found in front of the TV, cheering on the Chicago Bears, embodying the spirit of a true fan. Earl’s love for music was equally vibrant; evenings were often spent playing his favorite songs for his family, accompanied by stories of the concerts he had attended.
Earl is survived by his devoted wife Tammy of 26 years, and their daughter, Cameo (George). He leaves behind a loving family that includes his siblings Cheryl (Gerald), Deanna (Louie), Elaine (Jeff), Debbie (Chad), David (Bonnie), as well as his Mother, Joyce, and Aunt Delores. He will also be remembered with fondness by many nieces and nephews whose lives he touched.
Jr. was preceded in death by Earl Hamm Sr. (Father), Robert (Uncle), and both sets of grandparents, who await his arrival in eternal rest.
As we reflect on the life of Earl Frederick Hamm Jr., we celebrate a man whose laughter, stories, and unwavering love will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him. His legacy of kindness, hard work, and passion for life will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
A memorial service for Earl has been arranged for July 12th—details will follow at a later date.
