Dustin Gilchrist, born on September 13, 1992, in Davenport, will be remembered for his unwavering love and devotion to his son, Maverick. He quietly passed away on December 20, 2025, after a short stay at the hospital, leaving a profound void in the lives of those who cherished him.

Dustin's life was defined by his role as a father. He immersed himself in the joys and challenges of parenthood, standing alongside Maverick as they navigated the journey of growing up. Dustin's evolution into fatherhood was a beautiful testament to his character, showcasing the strength and wisdom he gained while sharing unforgettable moments with his son. In addition to Maverick, Dustin is survived by his father, David Gilchrist, previously deceased mother, Rhonda Stremlow, his brother Ryan Stremlow, and his wife Brittani, and numerous cherished family members and friends, including his best friend and the mother of his son, Abbie Boetger. Previously deceased mother-in-law, Melissa (Lager)Boetger. His family extended to include his brother-in-law, Nolan Lager; father-in-law, James Boetger; grandfather, James Stremlow; and grandmothers, Cheryl Gilchrist and Joanne Lyons. Dustin also leaves behind uncles and aunts, including Uncle Jimmy, Aunt Tammy, and Aunt Missy, along with friends who held a special place in his life—Evan, Sally, Jason, Sonni, and Brandi.

Dustin took pride in his accomplishments, notably completing high school and earning his diploma; these achievements reflected his determination and dedication.

As we remember Dustin Gilchrist, let us celebrate the love he shared and the memories he created. His spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of those he touched, and his legacy will continue through his beloved son, Maverick.
