Donald William “Donnie” Quist Jr., age 81, of Milan, Illinois, passed away on May 1, 2026, in Des Moines, Iowa.

Donnie was born on April 27, 1945, in Milan, Illinois, to Gloria and Donald Quist Sr. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he dedicated many years to John Deere, where he worked until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gloria and Donald Quist Sr.; his brother, Maurice Quist; and his sisters, Phyllis Kellett and Cathryn Drowns.

Donnie had a deep love for his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and found joy and peace in the freedom of the open road. He enjoyed classic rock music and spending time with family, especially during the holidays. Known for his generosity, Donnie was always there to lend a helping hand when needed.

Donnie is survived by his daughters, Jennifer and Kristy; his grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He will be fondly remembered for his service to his country, his unwavering work ethic, and his kindness and generosity.
