Diana (March) Castro, born on August 10, 1951, in Moline, Illinois, passed away on July 11, 2025. A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Diana's life was marked by her unwavering dedication to helping others and her rich artistic spirit.

Diana embarked on her professional journey by working at Project Now and the Illinois Migrant Council, where she played a pivotal role in teaching English to immigrants. Her passion for service led her to a fulfilling career in nursing that spanned over two decades, with 18 of those years dedicated to the Robert Young Center in Rock Island. Through her work, Diana touched countless lives, exemplifying compassion and commitment in every interaction.

Known for her musical and artistic inclinations, Diana found joy in sharing her love for creativity with her grandchildren. She cherished the moments spent drawing and engaging with them, emphasizing the importance of family connections. Diana’s warmth and support were unwavering; she was always there for her friends, co-workers, and family.

Diana is survived by her children, Cristina (Steve) Braddy, Michael (Sarah) Castro, and Anthony Castro; her grandchildren, Owen and Payton Braddy, and Helo and Mara Castro; and her siblings, David (Terry) March, Paul Loete, Gary (Ros) March, and Beth (Mike) Klauer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Doris (Brockrogge) and Peter Loete, and Gordon and Ethel March, as well as her brothers, Peter Loete Jr. and Ralph March.

Diana's family would like to thank the staff at Clarissa Cook Hospice House for their kindness and comfort. Memorials may be made to them.

As we remember Diana Castro, we celebrate a life well-lived, one filled with kindness, artistic expression, music, travel, love of animals, and a profound love for her family and friends. Her legacy will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her.
