Debra MacFarland (Sheesley), cherished mother, sister, and friend, passed away on December 13, 2025, in her hometown of Moline, Illinois, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and compassion that touched all who knew her. Born on August 18, 1956, Debra lived her life with a heart full of love and a spirit of generosity.

Her journey began in Moline, where she graduated from Moline High School and later from Black Hawk College, dedicating herself to a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant. For over 30 years, Debra's caring nature shone brightly as she provided compassionate care to those in need. She also pursued further knowledge in massage therapy and reflexology, embracing her passion for helping others feel their best.

Those who had the pleasure of knowing Debra will forever cherish the memories of her unwavering support. She was a beacon of light, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Debra loved spending time with her family and friends, and these moments filled her with joy. Her laughter was infectious; she often found humor in everyday life and taught others to appreciate the lighter side of challenges.

In her free time, Debra found joy in exploring the beauty of nature, particularly in the majestic mountains that often moved her to tears. She nurtured an exquisite garden adorned with flowers, each bloom a testament to her creative spirit. An avid photographer, she captured the world through her lens, reflecting the beauty she saw in everything around her. Debra's artistic side was also evident in her love for art shows and jazz music, especially the smooth sounds of the saxophone and her favorite, Kenny G.

Debra was a single mother to her beloved daughter, Ashley MacFarland, and she took immense pride in raising her. Her greatest accomplishments were woven into the fabric of her family's lives; she selflessly cared for her mother, Beverly Sheesley, and her grandfather, Harold Manwarren, until their passing. Debra's generosity extended beyond her family as she provided for those in need, often personally delivering food and supplies to the homeless.

A lover of all things beautiful, Debra had a particular fondness for the color pink and anything that sparkled. She celebrated life’s special moments with great enthusiasm, delighting in decorating her home for each season and creating a joyful environment for all who visited.

Debra leaves behind not only her daughter, Ashley, but also her devoted sister, Susan Hammerberg, brother-in-law Chris Hammerberg, niece Kayla King, nephews Ethan Hammerberg, as well as Joshua and Beau Adams. They will hold onto her memory tightly, treasuring the lessons she taught them about compassion, creativity, and the importance of family.

Debra is reunited in spirit with her beloved mother, Beverly Sheesley; her sister, Sandy Kratz; her grandfather, Harold Manwarren; her grandmother, Hazel Manwarren; and her uncle, Howard Lynn.

Though her physical presence has left this world, Debra's legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family and friends, reminding us all to embrace life, celebrate its beautiful moments, and spread joy wherever we go.
