Born November 21, 1964, Dean Allen Smith, 60, passed away at home on August 12, 2025, after an extended illness.

He worked as a painter and drywall finisher and was a member of the UIPAT union. He was also a member of the West End Canoe Club. He enjoyed spending time with his friends, family, and his beloved cat, KiKi.

He is survived by his son, Zachery Hamma, of Davenport, and his Daughter, Robin (Collins), of Texas.

His sisters also survive him: Debbie (Ron Wallace) of Long Grove, IA; Deanna (Bob Holst) of Bettendorf, IA; Darcy (Pete McCormick) of Pewaukee, WI; and Darren Smith of Eldridge, IA.

Surviving Brothers include Dana, Rock Island, IL, Doug (Karla) Tipton, IA, Dave (Mary) Davenport, IA, Donnie, Davenport, IA, and a special friend, Cathy Fording of Davenport, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herb and Mary Smith, Long Grove, IA; his brothers, Dickson, Park View, IA, and Dan, Sioux City, IA; and his former wives, Debbie Klemme and Susan Smith, of Sioux City, IA; a nephew, Dusty Wallace, Long Grove, IA; and a sister-in-law, Terri Smith, Rock Island.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on September 20, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Lady Di’s in Park View, IA.
