Dan Ryan DeLashmutt, a beloved father, son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on January 13, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on October 19, 1983, in Davenport, Iowa. Dan was a man of kindness who touched the lives of many during his time with us.
Dan is survived by his parents, Bob and Diane, who loved him unconditionally and stood by him throughout his life. He leaves behind his sons, Bennett, Holden, and Knox, who were an important part of his life, a source of great pride with whom he treasured the moments they shared together. Dan is further survived by his brother, Bob, and sister-in-law, Heather, along with his four nephews, Hunter, Noah, Robby, and Wyatt. His cousin and lifelong friend, Shelley, shared a special relationship with Dan and was a great source of support for him, as well as numerous aunts and uncles who loved and supported him throughout his life.
Dan had a deep appreciation for nature and found joy in fishing, deer hunting, and mushroom hunting. He loved watching Iowa Hawkeyes football, race cars and loved his dad’s classic 72 Nova. He always had a strong desire to belong and form meaningful connections. Throughout his life, Dan was known for his willingness to help others, always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need.
Even with the challenges he faced, Dan brought light to everyone around him. He left a mark on the people who knew him, and though he left us far too soon, the memories of his love, humor, and kindness will stay with us always.
Family and friends are invited to share memories and express condolences on his memorial page at www.mvcremation.com Per Dan’s request, there will be no services at this time. A celebration of life will be held and announced at a later date. Memorials may be given to his three sons at the celebration
