Listen to Obituary

Connie Kay Pewe of Davenport, formerly of Eldridge, IA, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House after a brief illness.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the Dixon American Legion from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Please join us to share a memory. In Lieu of memorials or flowers, please make a kind gesture to someone to brighten their day, even if it is just a smile in Connie’s memory. Connie practiced this daily.

She was born on February 21, 1948, in Davenport, IA, the daughter of Bob and Erma (Esbaum) Dahms. She graduated from Bennett High School.

Connie was a homemaker, mother, and farmed for years. She also drove a school bus for North Scott Schools. She later went on to obtain her real estate license, which she worked hard for.

Connie was resilient. Connie faced obstacles in her life, but she kept going, telling her challenges to “bite me” as she lived life to the fullest. She was a very sociable person, and her biggest joy in life was always helping others. She liked four-letter words as much as she liked good company, a cold beer, and a cigarette.

She had resided in Eldridge, Iowa, since 1995, then later moved to The Kahl Home. At that time, everyone there became her friends as well. We would like to thank all the staff for being a part of their life. Especially her favorite aides, Katie and Virginia.

Condolences may be expressed at mvcremation.com.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Trisia (Bill) Sedam, Tracey (Tom) O’Brien. Grandchildren, Nathan, Tyler, and Michael Sedam, Jasmine (Dan) Carr, and Matthew (Susan) O’Brien. Great-grandchildren, Keagan, Noah, Savannah, and Ryan. Her one and only nephew, Tony (Tammy) Dahms, niece, Kristina Scroggins (Jeff), sibling Sandra, and their families. Her best friend, who Connie felt was more like a sister to her, was Diane Freeman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Kevin and Bruce.

Family and friends are invited to share memories and express condolences on her memory page at mvcremation.com
