Chris Dixon Bryant, 77, of Bettendorf, IA, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at his residence. He proudly served in the United States Army as a Military Policeman with the 502nd Military Police Company and 591st Military Police Company of the 2nd Armored Division at Fort Hood, Texas, and with B Company, 2nd Battalion, 562nd in Alaska. He then devoted his professional life to law enforcement, ultimately retiring as Chief of Police in Princeton, Iowa.
He was born to Carl Otis and Ruby Jean Bryant in Des Moines, Iowa. He was preceded in death by Carl, Ruby, his dad, Harry D. Kramer, and his brothers, Bill, David, and Tim.
He is survived by his son, Sam (Ashley), grandsons, Vincent and Henry, brothers, Gary and Harry, sisters, Kim and Kelly, as well as many extended family and friends.
Chris will be laid to rest on Monday, September 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, 34024 Veterans Memorial Drive, Adel, Iowa 50003. Family and friends are welcome to attend the service and are invited to join the family for a Celebration of Life Luncheon immediately following, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at American Legion Post 403, 910 Main Street, Van Meter, Iowa 50261.
