Cheri Geurink

Cheri Geurink, born on November 24, 1947, and known for her kindness, generosity, and love of animals, passed away on March 26, 2025. Cheri dedicated much of her life to farming alongside her husband, Ken Geurink, and their son, Tyler Geurink. In addition to her work on the farm, she spent 26 years at Walmart, where she excelled in multiple positions, showcasing her versatility and commitment.

Cheri's education included a degree in journalism from the University of Texas - San Antonio, which she leveraged to enrich her life and community. An avid bowler and master gardener, she found joy in playing cards and spent countless hours watching Chicago Cubs baseball, a particular passion that marked her vibrant personality along with being a trivia buff that never missed an episode of Jeopardy .

A lifelong member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Arbor Day, Cheri dedicated herself to service and the betterment of her community. Her legacy includes a warm smile, a love for cooking, and a spirit that uplifted everyone around her.

Cheri is preceded in death by her husband, Ken Geurink, and her brother, Les Dicken. She is survived by her beloved son, Tyler Geurink and her two cats Daisy and Duke.

A celebration of Cheri's life will be held at Tavern 61 in Blue Grass, Iowa, on April 19 from 3 PM to 6 PM, inviting all who knew her to honor her memory and reflect on the impact she made in their lives.
