Charles Sheeder

October 13, 1948 — August 21, 2022

Charles Eli Sheeder, 73, of Buffalo, IA, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 21, 2022, at home. He fought a long and hard battle with cancer but still enjoyed life to the end. Thanks to the outstanding care of his hospice team, who made it possible for him to be at home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Charley's memory to ProMedica Hospice, 4340 E. 53rd Street, Davenport, IA. 52807.

Charley's Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 4, 2022, from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Buffalo Community Center.

Charley was born on October 13, 1948, in Davenport, IA, the son of Bill and Velma (Dyer) Sheeder. Charley retired after 30 years as a cement finisher.

He enjoyed watching college football and was a big Hawkeye fan. In his younger days, he played football for the Quad Cities Mohawks. He was a great athlete, played softball, and loved running the Bix. He trained and ran the Bix for ten years. When his health wouldn't permit him to run anymore, he still went to watch every year.

Charley loved family gatherings, especially at Christmas. He loved trying new food dishes, especially the ones that were hot and spicy.

Charley is survived by his significant other, Kim Dobbs, her sons: Shane (Lisa) Strunk, Luke (Stephanie) Dobbs; his sons, Adam Sheeder and Justin (Shelley) Sheeder and Charlie's daughter, Jacquline; four grandchildren, Savanah, Skylar, Zoey, and Mia; his brother Bill (Gayle) Sheeder; sister Linda (Griff) Smith, many nieces and nephews, and his dear friends Dave Dobbs and Shawn Donahue who helped him so much and his special fur baby Pippi.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Danny.

Charley will be missed by all who knew him. May he Rest in Peace now.
