Charles Berg III, affectionately known as Charlie, was born on August 28, 1955, in Davenport, Iowa. He peacefully departed this life on October 11, 2025, in Bettendorf, Iowa. He is remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family and his joyous spirit that touched everyone around him.

Charlie dedicated much of his career to working in sheet metal, a craft he approached with both skill and pride. His professionalism was mirrored by his character; he was a man who genuinely cared for those around him. Charlie proudly served in the National Guard, showcasing his commitment to his country and community.

A devoted father, Charlie cherished his role in raising his daughters, Casey and Kelli. He found immense joy in coaching them in softball and basketball, helping them with their schoolwork, especially math, and making memories with them on numerous family vacations. His playful spirit shone brightly during Halloween when he would don a Beetlejuice costume to give his loved ones a good-natured scare, always seeking to bring smiles and laughter to those around him.

Charlie's interests extended beyond family and coaching; he was an enthusiastic golfer and a passionate supporter of the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Green Bay Packers, and the St. Louis Cardinals. His love for sports was a testament to his vibrant personality, and he enjoyed sharing these moments with family and friends.

He is survived by his beloved daughters, Casey (Travis) Volrath and Kelli (Zach) Houston, and his cherished grandchildren, Eastin Volrath (15), Brooklyn Houston (8), and Palmer Houston (5). Additionally, he is survived by his dear sisters, Sandra (Harry) Cunneff, Barbara (John) Beaudry, and Janet (Mark) Cox, along with many nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.

Charlie’s legacy lives on through the love he shared and the memories he created. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Berg II, and his mother, Jeanette Berg. Charlie's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with family, love, laughter, and service, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
