It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charity Grace Barnett, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, who left this world peacefully on October 11, 2025, at her home in Rock Island, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 18, 1974, in Moline, Illinois, Charity touched the lives of many with her kind spirit and infectious laughter.

Charity, who was affectionately known by her maiden name, Gibson, had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel at ease. Her warmth and welcoming nature drew people in, creating a space where friendships thrived. She had a great sense of humor, always ready to lighten the mood, and her laughter was a gift that will be deeply missed.

Throughout her life, Charity found joy in many pursuits. She immersed herself in arts and crafts, showcasing her creativity through the beautiful jewelry she lovingly crafted for her friends. These tokens of affection were more than just adornments; they were expressions of her generous heart. Charity’s love for celebrations was evident in her love for organizing functions, where she thrived and created memories filled with joy and laughter.

Her proudest accomplishments included her dedicated service to the Salvation Army during the Christmas season, where her kindness shone brightly as she brought cheer to those in need. Charity's compassion knew no bounds, and her commitment to helping others was a reflection of her character.

Charity is survived by her cherished mother, Mary E Gibson; her brothers, Christopher Gibson (Denise), Lee Everett Gibson (Cynthia), and sister Carolyn "Keli" Schaller (Randall). She also leaves behind her loving nieces and nephews. Together, they will remember her through countless stories that celebrate her life and legacy.

She now joins her beloved husband, Wayne Barnett, and her father, Fred Gibson, in eternal rest. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the beautiful memories she leaves behind. Charity Grace Barnett will forever remain in our hearts, her spirit guiding us with kindness and laughter, reminding us to cherish each moment of joy.

In accordance with her wishes, funeral arrangements and interment will be overseen by Wendt Funeral Home. Guests are respectfully requested to arrive by 11:30 a.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 1811 15th Street Place in Moline, Illinois, to join the funeral procession to Rock Island Arsenal National Cemetery, where the burial will commence promptly at 12:00 p.m. The minister will offer the final blessing, after which guests will be invited to share personal reflections or final messages.

Following the burial, a Celebration of Life will be held at Les & Molly’s, located at 1502 15th Street in Moline, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
